This is one of the Italian mother sauces that I literally put on everything, period. ANY Italian Nonna knows how to make this sauce. It’s simple, creamy, and so essential, especially when making lasagna. It is often used in many other cuisines too! Once you know how to make it, it becomes second nature.

Freshly grated nutmeg (or ground)
