yoyos-mexican-pan-dulce

This classic of the Mexican Pan Dulce also known as Enamorados, Besos, Ojos de buey, and others. Every region calls them different, and I know some panaderias are making these with pineapple and strawberry jam instead. The bread is salty, and a little taste of the baking soda comes out, but because these are coated in sugar or sweet jam and sweet coconut, there is a balance of flavor. You can get the raspberry jam at the store, but make sure it is the one with no seeds; also, the buttercream but the one with butter flavor; the recipe will make more than enough, but the buttercream is the same for the Barras de Mantequilla and the jam for the coconut cakes and Niño envuelto. Margarine can be substituted with butter or 100 g of vegetable shortening.

Ingredients
