This lemonade is very easy to make and it has a beautiful distinct flavour from the Panela. To me is the best refreshing lemon drink to beat the hot weather it was inspired by Venezuelan Papelon con Limon, traditionally made with limes. I made it using lemons instead of limes and added a little kick of ginger to tantalise the tastes.

Ingredients

For the Ginger Panela syrup
200 g Panela / piloncillo or rapadura sugar
1 piece of Ginger
