This is another classic that is a favorite of many Germans, but others might find it odd. However, kale is making its way to more and more tables. This can be served as a thin soup, a thicker stew, or even as a semi-dry side. Just adjust the liquid. I often make it as a soup and then thin it as needed for other dishes.
