A co-worker, Laura took us to this small restaurant in San Jose operated by an Austrailian many years ago. The meat pie he served was memorable. I search the Internet to try and recreate his meat pie. Vegemite is not a common grocery item here so I substituted it with thyme and beef boullion. I also added carrots and peas to add healthy volume to this dish. I baked the puff pastry separately, then placed it on top of the meat pie in the casserole dish. I have also used Pillsbury dinner rolls with rave review.

Ingredients

1 cup diced onions
2 lbs ground beef
1 tbsp corn starch
