dairy-free-sugar-free-smoothie
Here's a delicious option for ice cream lovers! You can go with whatever you have that is in season, frozen, or simply available. Feel free to add in flax seed, but be careful about adding in raw vegetables as they are not always easily digested and in their raw form some of their nutrients are not bio-available. Unless at the recommendation of a doctor, I prefer not to include protein powder in smoothies. They often have fillers, sugars, and other substances. I prefer my protein to come from food sources. Coconut milk will make your smoothie super creamy and is full of healthy fats, protein, calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B12, D, and phosphorus. Adding your favorite nut butter can also be a great way to increase protein intake, and unsweetened cocoa will give a rich chocolatey flavor. Play around with the flavor profile and enjoy!
