This has just topped Faisal's favourite dessert list. Marriam served it to us in Ramadan 2023 and I absolutely loved it. But I refused to ask for the recipe because of 2 reasons: 1. It was so divine I assumed it was too difficult. 2. I have always been intimidated by phyllo! I still am actually but this dish is so worth it. Fast forward to 2024, one year later, all of a sudden I had a craving for this. For some reason, I just had to have it again, it had to be today, and it had to be perfect. So Marriam was on call all day to answer my questions. Faisal and I drove all around town searching for the ingredients. I even sent him to three separate stores to get me the exact cheese we needed. The result? SO SO worth it! This is totally one of those dishes that you can wow your guests with. Rose petals and pistachios add a final gorgeous touch. Combined with the sight and sound of a hot pastry still sizzling and quenching the hot syrup you've just poured over it...it is something quite spectacular. This is not my recipe.
