Sweet Red Bean Steamed Buns Jjinbbang
One of the very popular winter snacks in Korea is this steamed bun filled with sweet red bean paste, Jjinbbang. There are versions where the filling is made with meat and vegetables but this one with sweet red bean paste is more dessert like while the former can be a meal. The bun is fluffy yet a little chewy to the bite as it is steamed- like a cross between bread and mochi. When it's hot right of the steaming pot, and you open it up right through the middle to take the first bite of the filling and all, there's nothing quite like it! The total resting time is around 1.5hours and the total prep and cooking time is only 20 minutes give or take so don't hold yourself from devouring this goodie buns!
