This lovely Malay salad has something unexpected and delightful: pineapple! It's similar to Pakistani Kachumar, but with a sweet and playful upgrade. Thank you to Auntie Aida for sharing it with us, and thanks to her and Uncle Javed for teaching us how to say it: Achar tee-moon ne-nas. Read below for more fun facts: Acar: in lexicon though traders, hinduism, & sanskrit Timun = cucumber Nenas = pineapple It's sometimes called "Acar timun kenduri" because it's served at weddings. Which means that kenduri = ...? PS. This pic doesn't do it justice because it's from the leftover batch (which I happily received). I was too busy gobbling it up to get my camera out the first time.
