charro-beans

charro-beans

Where I’m from, these charro beans or party beans can’t be missing at a party, especially when grilling carne asada. They are better when beans are freshly cooked (frijoles de la olla), but I find Bush brand pinto beans to have the closest flavor to frijoles de la olla, and it’s a quick way to make these beans. You can increase the heat by adding more jalapeños or even a few chipotle peppers from a can.

Ingredients

8 oz smoked bacon
