Spicy Meatballs with Tahini and Schug
This dish is inspired by spicy meatballs popular in North African countries like Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. It's my take on meatballs slow cooked in a spicy tomato-harissa sauce, garlicky, and aromatic from all the spices. It's actually super easy to put together–make this for your next dinner party! I'd recommend baking the meatballs at the max temp in your oven to get some color instead of pan searing as a time saver if you want to make these in a huge batch. I love my spicy tomato sauces with something creamy and fatty like a tahini, and as the cherry on top I also did a green schug. Let me warn you: this dish is SPICY. But, I think that's how it really hits the spot. If you don't have a great spice tolerance then I'd recommend toning down the chilies a bit!.
