white-beans-soup-(sauce)

Beans soups are staples in Haiti known as sòs pwa, it is a cornerstone in Haitian cuisine. Sós pwa is a simple dish that celebrates Haitian heritage, and flavors. Haitian bean soup can be made with any beans, aromatic spices and sometimes coconut milk. This plant-based dish is simple, delicious and nutritious. I highly recommend using pressure cooker to cook the beans because the traditional uses dry beans. This will save you hours. This soup is usually serve with white rice, or cornmeal. Fun fact, this is a dish parents feed their baby when they reach the that they are able to eat regular food. Coconut milk in beans is optional however it adds great flavor, personally i like coconut milk in red, and black beans not the white one. As for white bean soup i like to mix the beans, all that white beans has their own unique taste. Cannelli beans are meatier, and has a nutty taste. Great northern are creamier, it totally optional to mix them.
