This is an amazing steak sandwich that, in my opinion, ticks all the boxes of a perfectly constructed sandwich. It has a mix of textures and flavours — soft, juicy, salty, sweet, and slightly gourmet without being over the top. It’s the kind of dish that would be fantastic to share with guests or friends, especially on a sunny day with a few beers and some fries or chips. In terms of the elements here, it can become a little expensive depending on where you are. However, you can still create incredible flavours by swapping or substituting certain ingredients — for example, you could replace the truffle mayo, the pear jam, the brioche rolls, or even the cut of meat if needed. You also don’t necessarily need to BBQ or sous vide the steak; you could use a less expensive cut and adjust your cooking method accordingly. That said, the suggested flavour combination and build are still highly recommended. Portion sizes can range from 6–10, depending on how you decide to serve it.
