While I was growing up, this was usually served as a delicious brunch with fresh parathas. Or we'd have it for breakfast with toast. We still do that sometimes (one of my favourite brekkies) but we usually eat it for dinner (with store bought parathas)! This is also one of my favourite suhoor meals.
Ingredients
4 + cups onions, half sliced and thick
4 tbsp (heaping dinner tbsp) crushed tomatoes (if not paste)
chopped cilantro (for cooking and garnish)
