Shinwari Mutton Karahi
I've always loved karahi, but never really learned how to make a great one...until today. I had the pleasure of taking a cooking lesson with Farhana Auntie. For those that don't know, Farhana is a PSW that came a few times to take care of Nanu and Nana-jaan when Nanu was injured in September 2024. She was a lovely care-person, and a wonderful cook! So I asked if she'd be willing to teach me, and she so kindly agreed. Not only did I learn a few great dishes, Farhana also shared a bunch of general cooking tips and tricks. We had a lovely day cooking and chatting away. Okay, I guess I didn't exactly do that much cooking...I was mostly focussed on frantically jotting down measurements and steps – while trying not to annoy a seasoned chef that very much does everything by andaazé! She was very very patient with me. You can also try out the other dishes that Farhana taught me today: Shinwari chicken karahi Dahi ki kari Baigan ka bhurta
